History comes alive at Strand Quay
17 May 2010
New picnic tables and benches - made from recycled plastic - and bins have been installed at the Strand Quay as well as new information boards.
Now a petanque pitch and a new 'talking post' where visitors can learn more about the history of the area have been put in place.
The interactive post invites visitors to press a button and hear more about the history of the town of Rye or shipbuilding and shipping activity in the area. The petanque pitch was officially opened in October 2009 when two teams from Camber and Rye town played a demonstration match.
